Pre-announcement: ESRC applicant-led: challenge awards

This is a pre-announcement for the ESRC applicant-led challenge awards program, which funds ambitious, larger-scale research programmes that bring together people, expertise and ideas to address major research, economic and societal challenges. Applicants must be based at a UK research organisation eligible for ESRC funding. The specific application deadline, budget envelope, and per-project award amounts have not yet been announced.

This call is fundamentally misaligned with Acme Corporation's profile. The ESRC challenge awards are designed for UK-based research organisations and academic consortia pursuing social and economic research challenges, not industrial R&D in semiconductors or AI.
